Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

Two scholarly or professional writing samples
Answer the two provided statement of purpose question prompts. Please limit your responses to 500 words maximum for each of the following questions:
1) How will pursuing an interdisciplinary leadership studies Ph.D. program support your research interests and professional goals?
2) What types of experiences have prepared you to excel in a rigorous Ph.D. program?
Three personal references with at least one reference from a current or former direct supervisor - Your recommenders will receive an email asking for their recommendation.
Other requirements:
A master's degree from an accredited institution
Prerequisite courses in:
-undergraduate accounting (COB 241 at JMU, or ACC 211 through the Virginia Community College System or equivalent)
Three (five preferred) years of full-time equivalent work experience
Test Requirements: GRE or GMAT scores - Scores older than 5 years, please contact the program.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (minimum TOEFL score of 100) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (minumum scores of 7) if native language is not English, unless you have earned a degree from a U.S. institution
