  • SCHEV
    The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) provides a wealth of data about institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth. Use this link to explore a number of data trends and metrics comparing state institutions across Virginia.

  • College Scorecard
    The U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard has data on college costs, graduation, and post-college earnings designed to allow students and parents to compare different institutions.

  • IPEDS
    The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System is the primary postsecondary data collection program for the U.S. Department of Education. This site is intended for those who have a familiarity with postsecondary data, particularly within the IPEDS data system.

  • Higher Education Research & Development (HERD)
    The HERD webpage contains downloadable data sets of research expenditures from institutions that report it on an annual survey.

  • Student Achievement Measure (SAM)
    The Student Achievement Measure provides a picture of student progress and completion across institutions and state boundaries.

  • Carnegie Classification
    The Carnegie Classification is a framework for recognizing and describing institutional diversity in U.S. higher education.
