The SACSCOC On-Site Review Committee completed their evaluation of JMU’s proposed QEP on April and recommends it for implementation with no modifications.

February 2023 Update

The QEP Proposal Report has been completed and submitted to SACSCOC for review prior to the external site visit in April 2023. Please contact Dr. Paul Mabrey with questions, feedback, or if you are interested in hosting a conversation about the QEP within your area.

Quality Enhancement Plan Overview

One of the components of an institution's reaffirmation is a course of action, or a roadmap, that focuses on enhancing the quality of higher education and student learning and/or student success. It is expected to include a university-wide process for identifying key issues and a broad-based involvement of institutional constituents in the development and implementation.

The theme for our current QEP is “Early Alerts: Improving Retention and Closing the Equity Gap.” Its goal is to create a data-informed, formal, proactive, feedback system that sends notifications about targeted student segments to JMU practitioners who can take action to intervene. Our commitment to reflect and act on how we are succeeding and falling short to support student success is at the core of our values: academic quality, community, diversity, innovation, integrity, and student focus.

Updates and opportunities to engage and collaborate will be posted here and/or shared via email. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the QEP Director Dr. Paul Mabrey with questions, concerns, ideas, or collaboration opportunities.
