Why I want to serve on the Task Force:
First and foremost, I have a duty to advocate for the student body of JMU, as well as a responsibility to help keep them informed on the ways the University affects their Madison experience. My service on this Task Force is a part of that advocacy and sharing of knowledge. Personally, I have a passion for JMU that has been a driving force throughout my life, thanks to the service of my parents as alumni of JMU. Not only am I a Black person, I am a Black Duke, and I feel a need to do what I can in this moment to pay if forward for the students who come after me.
