Meet Angela, the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing for Student Affairs.  

Angela has been a Duke since the ‘80s, and is a graduate of the College of Business. After beginning her career in hotel management, she returned to JMU in 2001 and worked for Aramark marketing. In 2017 she moved to the Health Center as Assistant Director of Marketing. Finally, she helped create the new SACM department in 2021, where she ensures all areas of student affairs have effective marketing and communications.  

Angela is proud of her writing skills and professionalism, which she credits a JMU business writing class for teaching her. She’s always looking to improve her social media skills, but says, “You can’t be good at everything, so the best thing you can do is surround yourself with people who are good at what they do.” 

In her free time, Angela has been relearning piano. She loves to spend time with her family, and now, even her daughters are Dukes!
