Justin holds an MA in Theatre from Villanova University and a Ph.D. in Theatre and  Performance Studies from the University of Maryland. Along with his  wife Amanda, Justin led three semester-long cross-cultural programs to Europe, where he spent significant time studying experimental performance and art. At the university level he directed The Spitfire Grill, The 39 Steps, Into the Woods, Twelfth  Night, Measure for Measure, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Shrek: The  Musical, the opera Noye’s Fludde, Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, among others. His productions of The 39 Steps and The Crucible were featured as invited productions at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Region 2 in 2018 and 2023.  With Jerry Holsopple Justin co-created an original rock musical using  Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and the music of U2. Also with Jerry Holsopple, Justin co-created and performed Bonhoeffer: Cell 92, which ran in Vienna, Austria in May 2022 and will be touring nationally in the fall of 2024. He adapted and  directed Distant Witness: Social Media, the Arab Spring, and a Journalism  Revolution. With Jim Clemens Justin also co-created and performed The Gospel  

Project and Firebrand: The Life of Paul. He continues to perform The Gospel Project with musician/performer Perry Blosser with whom he is also developing a new piece on the life of King David. Justin is Artist-in-Residence at Asbury United Methodist Church, an oil painter, and a certified yoga teacher.
