BRCC to JMU Co-Admission Program

Just as your tuition and fees will be paid to BRCC during your first year, the BRCC Financial Aid Office will also be your “home” financial aid office while you are enrolled in the co-admission program. If you have not already, be sure to add BRCC to your FAFSA. The BRCC school code is 006819.

Applying for Aid:

  • Complete the FAFSA
    • Use school code 006819 for BRCC
    • Select “off campus” as your housing type
  • Regularly review SIS (Student Information System) within your MyBRCC account to determine if we have requested any additional information via the “To Do List” or sent any messages. Be sure to submit any requested items promptly.

Financial Aid Package:

  • Once all items are received, the BRCC Financial Aid Office will send you a financial aid package notice in the SIS Message Center.
  • Your BRCC Financial Aid package may consist of grants and scholarships, and you will have the opportunity to add student loans to your package.
  • If your financial aid package after requesting Federal Student Loans does not contain enough funding to meet your costs, you may apply for an alternative loan, or your parent may apply for a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan.
  • If your financial aid, including loans, exceeds the amount of your BRCC tuition, you may charge books to your financial aid through the BRCC Bookstore.
  • After the add/drop period ends each semester, student attendance is confirmed for all courses. Once attendance is confirmed, your financial aid will disburse to pay your BRCC tuition and fees.
  • Any grant, scholarship, and loan funds that exceed the amount of your BRCC tuition, fees, and book charges, will be sent to you in the form of a refund. You may choose whether to receive a check in the mail or direct deposit in the manage refunds area in SIS.
