Welcome to the BRCC to JMU Co-Admission Program! We're excited to have you join us - below are the steps you need to complete in order to  prepare for your successful transition to BRCC and JMU.

Some of the steps take more time than others to work through so pay attention to the "complete by" deadlines to stay on track!

Complete by June 10

Accept the offer by signing and returning the contract you received from the JMU Admissions office by the June 10 deadline.

Submit your application to BRCC.

Complete the VCCS Direct Enrollment Survey.

Submit the FAFSA or add BRCC to your completed FAFSA (BRCC code is 006819).

BRCC will send you a letter with more detailed information about financial aid soon after you submit/update the FAFSA.

After completing the BRCC application, you will be assigned a username and temporary password. Log into MY BRCC within 24 hours of finishing the application to change your password and finish setting up your account. If you have taken courses through a Virginia community college before, read the login instructions for returning students.

Note that all BRCC communications will go to your BRCC email address once you have enrolled in first semester courses, so it is very important that you check it regularly.

Please read the explanation of the FERPA release form and why it is needed for this program, then complete the form through the link at the bottom of the page.

The Advising Intake Survey will help your academic advisors make appropriate course recommendations.  You will receive course recommendations via email with the opportunity to zoom with your advisor if you need assistance. All Co-Admission students will be registered for SDV 100, Student Success. Students will learn about all the resources available to them at BRCC as part of this one credit class. Please Note: You will need to complete steps 2 & 5 in order to find your BRCC ID and email address, required for the Advising Intake Survey.

Complete by July 8
You will receive course recommendations from Kate McDaniel (JMU advisor) by July 26. Email Kate, mcdanikm@jmu.edu or Rajan Shore, shorer@brcc.edu if you need assistance.
Complete by July 15

Once your financial aid has been packaged, you will need to either pay the remaining balance in full or in installments at BRCC or apply for loans to pay remaining costs. BRCC provides information about financial aid through your SIS Message Center. Watch for emails from noreply@vccs.edu to your BRCC email address with more information.

If you have a disability or major health impairment that impacts your life and would like to apply for accommodations at BRCC, you will need to complete this step. Review the information about student accessibility services and documentation guidelines.

You can take care of this step during the BRCC Welcome Day on August 16th or online.

Attend BRCC Welcome Day on August 16
Welcome Day is Friday, August 16. Purchase your textbooks, walk your schedule and tour campus, enjoy free pizza and more! You can also get your BRCC ID card and free parking pass if you did not do that online. There will be a meeting for co-admission students at 9:00 a.m. in E110, after which you may participate in Welcome Day activities.
