Welcome! Once you have been admitted to BR2JMU Direct Connect, you can return to this page to see the list of onboarding steps you will need to complete to join BR2JMU.

BR2JMU Checklist

Step 1: Accept the Offer

Accepting the offer to join BR2JMU is a two-step process:

  1. Respond to the email with your offer of admission to BR2JMU indicating that you would like to accept
  2. Complete the BR2JMU Program Acceptance Expectations Agreement
Step 2: Register for Classes

Contact your high school Career Coach to sign up. Make sure that you have completed the Direct Enrollment Survey (you were prompted to do so when you submitted the BRCC application).

Complete the New Student Onboarding Form. When completing the form, please add a comment that you are a BR2JMU accepted student. Make sure that you have completed the Direct Enrollment Survey (you were prompted to do so when you submitted the BRCC application).

You will receive course recommendations via email with the opportunity to zoom with your JMU Next advisor if you need assistance. All BR2JMU students will be registered for SDV 100, Student Success. Students will learn about all the resources available to them at BRCC and JMU as part of this one credit class.

Email Kate McDaniel, mcdanikm@jmu.edu or Rajan Shore, shorer@brcc.edu if you need assistance.

Step 3: FAFSA and Scholarships

Submit the FAFSA or add BRCC to your completed FAFSA (BRCC code is 006819).

BRCC will send you a letter with more detailed information about financial aid soon after you submit/update the FAFSA.

Step 4: Make Arrangements for Payment

Once your financial aid has been packaged, you will need to either pay the remaining balance in full or in installments at BRCC, or apply for loans to pay remaining costs. BRCC provides information about financial aid through your SIS Message Center. Watch for emails from noreply@vccs.edu to your BRCC email address with more information.

Step 5 (optional): Accessibility Services

If you have a disability or major health impairment that impacts your life and would like to apply for accommodations at BRCC, you will need to complete this step. Review the information about student accessibility services and documentation guidelines.

Step 6: BRCC ID card and Parking Pass

You can take care of this step during the BRCC Welcome Day on August 15th or online.

Step 7: Attend BRCC Welcome Day on August 15

Welcome Day is Friday, August 15. Purchase your textbooks, walk your schedule and tour campus, enjoy free pizza and more! You can also get your BRCC ID card and free parking pass if you did not do that online. There will be a meeting for BR2JMU students in the morning, time and location TBD, after which you may participate in Welcome Day activities.
