Estimated Timeline of Work

AY 2024-25
Gather ideas for a new GEP from faculty, gather faculty feedback on ideas and identify large-scale ideas to develop into GEP proposals over the summer. Ensure C&I processes provide for next year’s robust faculty review of proposed models for a new GEP.

  • Fall 2024
The CCATF will gather ideas from faculty. The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Curriculum (VPFAC) will initiate and oversee a review of the existing C&I process to help ensure C&I processes provide for robust faculty review of proposed models for a new GEP.

  • Spring 2025
The CCATF will connect faculty who submitted similar ideas; gather feedback from faculty regarding all ideas submitted; and work with the provost to select large-scale and/or complex ideas for further development over the summer. The office of the VPFAC will finalize review and potential adjustment of C&I processes to ensure robust faculty review of proposed models for a new GEP.

  • Summer 2025
Faculty groups, supported by stipends, will develop proposals for suggested large-scale revisions.

AY 2025-26
Gather feedback on proposed GEP models. Initiate C&I process for faculty review and approval of GEP model(s). Send approved GEP model(s) for approval of a single model by the provost, president and Board of Visitors. Determine faculty governance of new GEP. Begin adding courses to new GEP.

  • Fall 2025
The CCATF will gather feedback from faculty, students and senior leadership on proposals for large-scale revisions and will provide that feedback to the provost. The provosts office will initiate C&I processes for review of proposed GEP models. The provost will consult with faculty to determine a governance structure for proposed new GEP structures. The new faculty governance structure will oversee the inclusion of courses in the new GEP, the new GEP rollout and the old GEP teach out.

  • Spring 2025
Results of the C&I review and approval(s) will be provided to the provost, president and Board of Visitors for review and final approval of a new GEP structure. Faculty overseeing the new GEP will initiate work with faculty to populate the newly approved GEP structure with courses. Course inclusion will be determined by student learning outcomes and will be vetted through faculty review via C&I processes.

AY 2026-27
Faculty in the governance structure overseeing the new GEP will work with faculty to populate the approved new GEP structure with courses. Initiate teach out for old GEP.
