It is vital that everyone engaged in laboratory learning activities within the College of Health and Behavioral Studies understand Lab Safety. Recognition of the potential hazards associated with the laboratory environment and the importance of following proper safety procedures at all times can help prevent injuries.
Students enrolled in nursing courses that implement laboratory activities will review and acknowledge important lab safety information provided in their student handbook upon entry into their respective program. Additional safety information is conveyed face to face by faculty and staff during targeted lab experiences and through course content via Canvas.
The link below provides access to the CHBS Safety Plan, undergraduate, and graduate student handbooks. After their initial acknowledgement of understanding, students are expected to continue reviewing this information as they progress through their program of study.
