How to declare or change a CoB major or minor

If you are a non-College of Business student seeking to declare a CoB major:

College of Business majors are: accounting, computer information systems, economics, finance, international business, business management, marketing and quantitative finance.

If you are a non-College of Business student seeking to declare a CoB minor:

  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (good academic standing) is required on the date you submit a Declaration of Minor form if you are applying to a minor in economics.
  • The minors in business analytics, computer information systems, entrepreneurship, and global supply chain management require a separate application process after completing a series of courses.

Any student enrolled in one of the B.B.A. programs must meet certain progression standards in order to continue as a business major beyond the second year of study. Please consult the JMU Undergraduate Catalog for specific information regarding College of Business progression standards.

All students must have at least one major with a degree (i.e. Biology - BS). To add a 2nd major, select the major listed with no degree (i.e. Biology).

Follow the steps provided on the Academic Advising website.
