Kathy Guisewite with her Dad for the VPA Caregiver Outreach Program

Kathy Guisewite (pictured here with her own dear Dad who nobly lived the last 5 years of his life with Alzheimer’s Disease) is employed by Valley Program for Aging Services as the Caregiver Outreach Coordinator. She serves as an adjunct professor at JMU and oversees CCN. Kathy is a Dementia Friend Champion and Master Trainer and a facilitator of Virtual Dementia Tours. She is additionally a facilitator for the internationally recognized program Opening Minds through Art. She holds a MEd in Deaf Education and a MA in Counseling. She finds great joy in the resiliency of the human spirit and the inherent value of building nurturing relationships across generations.
