In certain cases after the filing of a formal complaint under Policy 1346 or 1340 , parties may elect to participate in an alternative resolution process in lieu of the formal complaint investigation and hearing process. Both parties must provide voluntary written consent to participate, and either party may withdraw at any time prior to reaching an agreement. Alternative resolution of formal complaints under Policy 1340 and 1346 is prohibited for formal complaints involving students and employees.
- Adaptable Resolution is the name of the alternative resolution program available for student complainants and respondents and is facilitated by the Office of Restorative Practices in OSARP.
- Human Resources is responsible for facilitating the alternative resolution program for formal complaints involving staff complainants and staff respondents.
- Academic Affairs is responsible for facilitating the alternative resolution program for faculty complainants and faculty respondents.
