Move to Hartman Hall
This August, SSLS will be moving to Hartman Hall in the College of Business Learning Complex! Our offices will be located across the hall from the College of Business Dean's Suite. This video provides greater detail on the building's namesake donors, James and Carolyn Hartman, who made a substantial gift to the College of Business, as well as still shots and video of the building's interior.
Personnel Updates
Brooke Rhodes
Educational and Student Support Specialist Brooke Rhodes has accepted a new position as a Lecturer in the JMU College of Business' Marketing Department. Her appointment will begin in August 2022. We are so grateful for all Brooke has done for SSLS and wish her the best in her future endeavors!
Kira Lambert
Kira Lambert is joining the SSLS team as the new Educational Support Specialist and First-Year Advisor. Kira previously served as a Presidential Engagement Fellow for JMU's Valley Scholars program, a JMU-based scholarship program that serves first-generation, financially-eligible middle and high school students in the Shenandoah Valley. Kira is a proud alum of JMU and holds bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Communication Studies.
Dr. Andy Miller ('21)
SSLS alum Dr. Andy Miller ('21) will be joining JMU as a Postdoctoral Visiting Scholar for the 2022-23 academic year. His position involves both research and teaching responsibilities, with the development and delivery of core statistics requirements being of primary concern. In addition to engaging in research projects with SSLS faculty and students, Dr. Miller will teach statistics courses, provide students with statistical support, and reinforce statistical proficiency for students within SSLS and the College of Business.

National Center for Non-Profit Enterprise
The National Center for Nonprofit Enterprise (NCNE) exists to help nonprofits make wise economic decisions through education and advocacy by bringing ideas from economics and strategic management to the specific application of issues faced by social purpose organizations. Along with developing educational content for nonprofits, the NCNE also offers a certification program in Nonprofit Resilience Management. SSLS will become the organizational home of the NCNE in the coming months, with Dr. Margaret Sloan serving as the center's Interim Executive Director. More information on the center and its programming can be found on the NCNE website.
