This is an open group for alumni, faculty, students, and supporters of SMAD with more than 1,700 members. Submit a request to join through LinkedIn and participate by sharing stories and current events. You can also find internship and job opportunities by tapping into SMAD's vast network of alumni and supporters.

SMAD Day is a career day extravaganza that features panels and workshops with SMAD alumni and is usually tied to JMU's Homecoming weekend. The event encourages student to build relationships and help them find valuable internships and prospective job opportunities. Dozens of alumni also volunteer to review student résumés.

The SMAD Connect initiative identifies SMAD alumni and non-alumni media professionals who can provide career advice to current students. Guest speakers are invited to speak in classes and participate in SMAD sponsored events, workshops, panel discussions or other talks/lectures.

At the end of each spring semester, SMAD supporters, donors, alumni and faculty honor the top graduating seniors in each concentration and award dozens of scholarships to deserving students.
