Note: A minimum pre-registration of 35 participants is required for this workshop to be facilitated as scheduled.

Total Workshop Time: 3 Hours

Pre-requisites: None

Description:

Many organizations recognize the advantages that diversity and inclusion bring, but find it difficult to cultivate a workplace that works for everyone. Diversity and inclusion are not the same; they are inter-related and inter-dependent and people at all levels must be willing and able to "break new ground" in order to create an environment where people want to come, stay and contribute the best that they have to offer. This workshop will provide you with the understanding, skills and tools necessary to create and maintain a respectful and inclusive workplace.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Describe diversity and inclusion dynamics as they occur in day-to-day interactions and lead to diversity moments.
  • Describe the presence and influence of unconscious bias, micro-inequities and societal stereotypes on our judgment, communication and actions.
  • Use the four steps in the M.E.E.T. model to respond effectively to situations involving diversity and inclusion dynamics and promote a respectful working environment.
