WRTC’s internship requirement allows you to learn outside of the traditional classroom. Past interns have found placement locally with nonprofits, in the surrounding area in government and business placements, via hybrid internships doing both technical writing and in publishing and doing content management, design and social media with partners around the country and the world.
After finding an internship, you will sign up for the online WRTC 495: Internship course that allows a space for reflection and support while you work. Below you will find internship seeking resources, FAQs about internships, info about where other WRTCers have interned and internship applications for the required credit.
For more information or to set up an appointment to discuss internship placements, contact internship coordinator Dr. Jen Almjeld at almjeljm@jmu.edu.
