The JMU PA Program and Physician Assistant Student Society (PASS) are grateful to have received many honors and awards over the years:

  • October 2023: Student Challenge Bowl winners.  Annual statewide medical quiz competition among PA programs in Virginia.  Held by the Virginia Academy of PAs.
  • October 2021: Student Challenge Bowl winners.  Annual statewide medical quiz competition among PA programs in Virginia.  Held by the Virginia Academy of PAs.
  • April 2020: Graduate Student Association IMPACT Award.  The JMU graduate student association recognizes the Physician Assistant Program for the outstanding impact this program has had on the JMU graduate student community.
  • April 2019: Graduate Student Association IMPACT Award.  The JMU graduate student association recognizes the Physician Assistant Program for the outstanding impact this program has had on the JMU graduate student community.
  • May 2018: National PA Student of the Year.  JMU PA student, Blake Rogers, was named the PA Student of the Year at the American Academy of PA’s Annual Conference in New Orleans, LA.  One student per year in chosen nationally based on their dedication to service, leadership, and advocacy.
  • November 2017: AFP’s Youth in Philanthropy Award.  JMU PA program students and faculty participated in a local video “mannequin challenge” for which they won the top prize of $5,000.  Students then voted to donate the prize money to the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Free Clinic.  For these efforts, the Association of Fundraising Professionals awarded the JMU Physician Assistant Program with the 2017 “Youth in Philanthropy” award.
