Our facilitiy services first-time passport applicants for the JMU community as well as the general public. Services are provided by the Center for Global Engagement, and available by appointment only.

Passport Application Requirements
- Completed form DS-11 passport application
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship* (one of the following)
- A certified copy of U.S. birth certificate (must include parents' names; birth cards not accepted)
- Certificate of naturalization
- Expired passport (not eligible for renewal)
- Proof of identity* (one of the following):
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Valid military ID
- Certificate of naturalization
- One recent color photograph
- Must be 2x2 inches in size
- Photo can by taken at JMU's facility for an additional fee (see below)
- Completed form DS-11 passport application
- Child must be present at the time of application
- Both parents must be present at the time of application or
- One parent may apply and submit a consent form signed and notarized by the other parent.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship* (one of the following)

- Only adult passports can be renewed
- Passports can be renewed up to five years after expiration
- This application must be mailed directly by the applicant to the passport office

- If applicable, proof of name change (certified copy of marriage license, certified copy of court order, etc.)
- One recent color photograph
- Must be 2x2 inches in size

Parking Information and Directions
Parking is available in the Mason Street Parking Deck. There are pay-by-spot parking spaces available on the first floor. Rates start at $0.50 per 30 minutes and can be paid via cash, card, or FLEX.
If you have a JMU Parking Permit, you must park in designated spaces for your permit.

The Passport Center is housed within the Center for Global Engagement at JMU. The office can be reached by parking in the Mason Street Parking Deck and going to the 3rd floor (same level as the skybridge). From there, turn right to enter Holland Yates Hall, and follow the colorful mural into the lounge area where the main entrance is located, just beyond the elevators. The office can also be accesed by entering on the main floor of Holland Yates Hall in the admissions lobby and simply going up the elevator to the second floor.
