Studying abroad offers a transformative experience that goes beyond the classroom, providing students the opportunity to engage in diverse cultures, languages, and societies of the region. JMU’s LAXC program encourages students to explore the opportunity to broaden their global perspective, connect with local communities, and develop skills that will prepare them for future careers. Through study abroad, students can further their learning by fostering critical thinking, cross-cultural communication, and adaptability. Take the leap and let the world be your classroom!

Through the Center for Global Engagement, the university offers a variety of study abroad opportunities. Students can search these programs either by destination or courses that are aligned with the LAXC program. For more questions, please contact Dr. Felix Wang at wangch@jmu.edu.

The LAXC program also offers scholarships for any JMU study abroad program to the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
