“What" is ProjectConnect?
ProjectConnect is a peer-facilitated 6-session program that focuses on building connection and community among JMU students.
The “Why” of ProjectConnect
ProjectConnect helps you meet other awesome students and make friends. College students name “making new friends” as their top priority, but it can sometimes be hard. According to the National College Health Assessment, more than half (53%) of students are lonely. ProjectConnect makes the process of making friends easy, with guided 1-hour meetings that focus on deep, interesting, and fun conversations and activities.
The People Behind Project Connect:
ProjectConnect sessions are held in groups of 5-6 students along with a student facilitator (our ResLife Program Advisers). Facilitators will create a safe, positive, and affirming atmosphere for students to engage in group conversations and activities.
