As part of the JMU mission to enhance diversity on campus, JMU entered into a partnership in 2010 with Study Group, a multi-national company specializing in educating international students in host countries.
Study Group's International Study Center at JMU provides transitional courses, including English, to international students studying at JMU. Students in the program earn academic credit equivalent to a typical first year at JMU while they adjust to the culture and the language. This comprehensive program emphasizes academics, cultural transition, and language acquisition. Students who complete the Study Group program matriculate to JMU's undergraduate.
The ISC JMU 1st Semester website contains valuable academic advising information for students currently studying in the ISC preparing to transition to JMU's undergraduate program.
In an effort to address potential questions from JMU faculty and staff, we have developed the JMU Policy Manual for Study Group Undergraduate Students.
