Available Kits
Exploring Wind Energy
Determine the presence and direction of wind using a pinwheel and measure the speed of wind using an anemometer.
Wind Powered Light (Firefly)
Utilize a hand-held wind turbine to test different blade materials, sizes, and shapes to determine which design can power an LED bulb.
Educator Kit: Wind Energy
Utilize two different PVC wind turbines to test multiple gear configurations and blade sizes, shapes, and angles to determine which design can generate the most electricity. Includes adequate supplies for small groups.
Exploring Solar Energy
Observe how the Sun provides heat and light, measure the intensity of sunlight using ultraviolet (color changing) beads, and explore ways to measure heat.
Solar Powered Water Fountain
Experiment with different light sources and solar panel configurations to determine the best way to power a water pump.
Educator Kit: Solar Energy
Build circuits using solar panels. Explore the amount of electricity produced by varying the intensity, angle, and the amount of light energy from different light sources. Includes adequate supplies for small groups.
