Regan Elmore is a senior Independent Scholars major with a concentration in East Asian Studies and minors in Asian Studies, Anthropology and Honors from Richmond, Virginia. She has always been interested in Japanese culture, having watched anime since she was little, and later developed an intrigue in Korean and Chinese cultures. These curiosities developed into a want to study East Asia as a whole, and to her finding a home in the Independent Scholars program.

Since her first semester at JMU in 2022, Regan has been involved in the Esports program in Marketing and Broadcasting, the Korean Student Association (KSA), and an Honors Ambassador and a Teaching Fellow for the Honors College. Regan recently traveled to Japan during a summer study abroad trip, which she considers to be her greatest achievement so far.

After graduation, Regan wants to pursue a career in foreign marketing or any vocation that allows her to utilize her skills and learn more about the world.
