EXPERIENCE: 

Richard was a Set Designer at the New York State Theatre Institute from 1977-2002. He taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinati from 1979-1987 in Stage Design and Lighting and the University of Colorado from 1999-2002. Richard has taught in the Department of School of Theater and Dance at James Madison University since 2002. He was an Associate Professor of Stage Design, now an Emeritus Professor

 

HONORS AND AWARDS: 

Richard has been honored for his work with four Kennedy Center Awards and the Denver Critics Award. His work has been displayed in exhibitions at the Prague Quadrennial in 2007 and the Toronto World Stage Design Expos.
