This Council is charged with coordinating and providing campus-wide oversight of efforts for promoting health and well-being at JMU.

This group will determine a path forward for JMU, creating synergy across all divisions of the university, with the goal to streamline the universities’ approach to the health and well-being of our diverse campus community. The Council will assess available resources, review current policies and practices, identify and prioritize needs and opportunities, and lead strategic planning to ensure JMU engages in best practices for Health and Well-Being and guides JMU in becoming a Health Promoting Campus.

Membership

Membership will be determined by the recommendation of the Chairs in partnership with the JMU President’s Cabinet who will have the opportunity to make recommendations to ensure membership is representative of the JMU community. Each Division will be represented and there will be a focus on both employee experts and students as part of the Coalition. Other members of the JMU and surrounding communities will be added as necessary to create the best possible working group of individuals to address the changing landscape of this issue. Members will serve 2-year terms and they can serve no more than 3 consecutive terms.
