About the Sensory Room

The Sensory Room, located in EnGeo 0301, provides a safe space to help regulate the senses and provide calm. You're welcome to check out the space whenever EnGeo is open, just make sure you bring your JACard! It is also useful to reduce agitation and for relaxation. It is particularly beneficial for those with neurodivergence and anxiety but can benefit everyone!

Features of the Sensory Room

Each of the features within the Sensory Room have different benefits and stimuli for your senses. Check out each of them and find which one works best for you.

Bubble Tube 
The bubble tube creates mesmerizing, constantly moving and color-changing bubbles. It is useful for those with sensory challenges and for calming. 
 

Sensory Fiber Optics 
Fiber optics capture attention with color changing light. They are meant to be touched and provide great tactile stimulation. They can soothe those experiencing restlessness, anxiety, or sensory overload. 
 

Gel Floor Tiles
Walk, jump, sit or touch these floor tiles to watch the color ooze. Supports sensory integration and just plain fun! 

Vibro Acoustic Lounger
Lie in this relaxing lounger and feel the music through your body. Listening to relaxing music on the lounger can reduce stress, tension, and anxiety to promote peace and relaxation. (You better set and alarm, because you will fall asleep!). Or choose more upbeat music to energize and stimulate your senses.  

Massage chairs
Massage chairs are good for your mind and your body! They can reduce stress, enhance moods, reduce anxiety and get rid of aches and pains.

Sensory Room Remote
Use this large remote to control your environment and meet your sensory needs. Pick a color, press the button and all the lights will change to that color. Don’t like what you choose? Pick another color or wait five minutes and the light will begin to rotate colors. Like the bubble tube but the bubbles are too stimulating?  Press the black button to turn the bubbles off and on.
