Professional Experience

Prior to coming to JMU in 2022 as an Academic Advisor for Elementary Education majors and Inclusive Early Childhood Education majors, Annette taught for nine years in the elementary classroom including dual language kindergarten and some time immersed in special education experiences. She has taught in Rockingham County and Harrisonburg City Public Schools, and received a Teacher of the Year Award in 2020. 

Professional Interests

These experiences have led Annette to have an interest in classroom management and creating positive classroom culture. 

Personal Interests

Annette enjoys reading, practicing yoga, running, hiking, and volunteering at the Friendly City Safe Space in her free time.
