What do I do at the Counseling Center?

I am a Doctoral Intern working on completing my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Alabama. At the Counseling Center, I provide individual and group therapy to students, outreach and consultation with campus and community members, and supervise clinicians in training. My focus area is the Sexual Trauma Empowerment Program (STEP).

What's it like to work with me?

When working with clients, I strive to create a calm, welcoming environment which allows the client to move at their own pace as we work together to reach their goals. I utilize interventions from a variety of theoretical perspectives, such as cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, ACT, and DBT, tailoring the interventions to each client’s specific needs. My clinical interests include LGBTQIA+, issues with sleep, substance use concerns, and health-related concerns (e.g., chronic pain, chronic health conditions).

What do I do at JMU outside of the Counseling Center?

When I’m not at the Counseling Center, I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and trying out new recipes.
