James Madison University has partnered with TimelyMD for students to have access to virtual psychiatry services for free through TimelyCare. Students do not need insurance and do not need to visit the JMU Counseling Center to access TimelyCare services.
(NOTE: Because of federal health regulations, TimelyCare providers are not able to prescribe controlled substances (i.e., stimulants for ADHD such as Ritalin, Adderall, etc.) see FAQ for more information.
How to Access TimelyCare Psychiatry
- Go to the TimelyCare app or timelycare.com/jmu to log into your account, or create an account if you haven’t already. Be sure to use your JMU email address.
- You will need to enter the Service Key T88WGW to access Psychiatry services.
- On the TimelyCare platform, go to the ACCOUNT tab and click “Add A Service”.
- Enter in the service key access code (T88WGW).
- Go back to your account home page and click “Get Care”.
- You should now see the “Psychiatry” tile in addition to your other services when starting a visit.
- Do not share your Service Key. If you have any trouble, reach out to the TimelyCare Customer Support team at 833-484-6359 or help@timely.md.
Be sure to attend your scheduled appointments. A student will lose access to Timely Psychiatry after 2 no show appointments.
