Certified Student Event Planners may request to rent university vehicles for their organizations through the Union Scheduling Office. Requests require a minimum of two weeks' notice to ensure a timely response and vehicle availability. The Union Scheduling Office will process your request and work with the Transportation office to secure your vehicle(s). Please read through the University vehicle rental rates and policies to determine a cost estimate and familiarize yourself with responsibilities and expectations. Once a vehicle is reserved, we will send you an email with specific instructions. Read through this information carefully. Any Student Organization using a university-owned vehicle must also comply with University Policy 4303.
Please note:
- All UREC and Club Sports orgs should make their requests directly with UREC.
- All drivers must be at least 19 years of age and have had their license for at least two years. They must present a driver’s license and sign a signature authorization page through the University Transportation office before they can pick up the keys. The driver’s license must be presented each time a vehicle is picked up.
- Vehicles reserved for the weekend MUST have keys picked up at JMU's Transportation Office prior to close of business on Fridays. See hours and information.
- Departments should contact JMU Transportation Services directly to reserve vehicles.
