Founded in 1919, AUC is a leading English language, American-accredited institution of higher education and a center of intellectual, social and cultural life of the Arab world. Its community of students, parents, faculty and staff, trustees, alumni and other generous sponsors represent more than 60 countries. The University offers 37 undergraduate, 44 master’s and two PhD programs rooted in a liberal arts education that encourages students to think critically and find creative solutions to conflicts and challenges, facing both the region and the world. It also offers a globally-recognized professional community-based education in English to meet the needs of the dynamic Egyptian and broader regional economies.
Location Description
Egypt is a unique, ancient and wondrous destination that has a lot to offer its visitors, no matter their ages and interests. It is a fantastic place for nomads, scholars and residents alike. The Greater Cairo area has a population of 20 million people with the city sprawled along the longest river in the world, the Nile. Encompassing the Pyramids of Giza, beautiful mosques and churches as well as numerous museums, the Arab world’s most populous city is teeming with life.
Explore the winding streets of Cairo, and you will find a budding art and music scene as well as numerous cafes and coffee houses, famous for their tea and backgammon. The dialect of Arabic spoken in Egypt is the most wellknown and most understood in the Arab world, making Egypt a prime language learning center in the Middle East. When you decide to study in Egypt, you open yourself to a new world filled with diverse cultures, histories, art and ideas.

Applicant Criteria
Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA and be in good standing with the university.
The is no language requirement for this university. All course instruction will be offered in English.
Applicants must have completed their first year of JMU before going abroad. There are exceptions for Transfer Students.
Costs
In addition paying regular tuition to JMU, participants can also expect to pay the following estimated costs to the host institution:

Application Process
The application for admission has a number of parts. See the outline below and make certain you have completed all steps in the application process:
- Online JMU Exchange General Application
Completing the General Application will allow you to select your top three universities for Exchange. Multiple Exchange Program applications do not need to be submitted. - Exchange University's application
Upon acceptance from JMU, the applicant will then complete the host university's application. The exchange program coordinator will work with applicant to provide access to the application.
