University Profile
Established in 1946 Kookmin University has grown to reflect South Korea’s progress throughout the decades. Among the Kookmin University’s esteemed distinctions are its world-class academic institutions including the College of Business Administration, College of Economics & Commerce and College of Design.
Kookmin University invites more than 200 exchange students each semester and offers diverse selection of courses taught in English. Exchange students are placed at one of the department/majors and can interact with Korean students as Well. In addition, exchange students have the opportunity to apply for the University dormitory which is modern, clean and safe.
Location Description
As the Kookmin campus is close to downtown Seoul, exchange students are exposed to many of the cultural highlights which Seoul has to offer. With over ten million people, Seoul is one of the largest and most densely populated cities in the world. Downtown Seoul is Korea's center of politics, culture and economy, offering art galleries, music and drama festivals, theaters, Christian churches, ministries, government offices, embassies and department stores.
Academics
Kookmin University has many majors that offer English course instruction. Some of these majors include Engineering, Political Science, Econimics, Business, Nutrition, Graphic Design, Animation, Kinesiology, Sport Management, Business, and many other majors that are here at JMU!

Kookmin University provides both on-campus and off-campus dormitories for students. All rooms are equipped with their own shower and toilet. Students also have access to a study room, cafeteria, and exercise room.
Applicant Criteria
Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA and be in good standing with the university.
The is no language requirement for this university. All course instruction will be offered in English.
Applicants must have completed their first year of JMU before going abroad. There are exceptions for Transfer Students.
Costs
In addition paying regular tuition to JMU, participants can also expect to pay the following estimated costs to the host institution:

The application for admission has a number of parts. See the outline below and make certain you have completed all steps in the application process:
- Online JMU Exchange General Application
Completing the General Application will allow you to select your top three universities for Exchange. Multiple Exchange Program applications do not need to be submitted. - Exchange University's application
Upon acceptance from JMU, the applicant will then complete the host university's application. The exchange program coordinator will work with applicant to provide access to the application.
