What We Do
The Office of Research Integrity works with the University community to provide a variety of services related to research integrity and compliance by:
- Providing administrative oversight for: the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Financial Conflict of Interest Committee (COIC), Export Controls, and Radiation Safety Committee (RSC), and Lab Safety (in collaboration with Risk Management).
- Provide research protocol guidance.
- Convert regulations into university policies and procedures.
- Manage conflict of interest and commitment disclosures.
- Facilitate Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training and research integrity.
- Support Institutional Official in maintaining and reporting research compliance. (An institutional official (IO) at a university is a person who has the legal authority to act on behalf of the institution and commit it to compliance with rules and regulations.)
Services
- conducts presentations on various topics related to research ethics, IRB, and IACUC;
- assists with preparation and submission of materials for review by compliance committees (e.g. IRB, IBC, IACUC);
- conducts one-on-one pre-submission consultations;
- conducts Post Approval Monitoring for animal subjects research; and
- provides access to educational resources for RCR training.
