How to Get to JMU from Specific Off-Campus Housing

Port Republic Road
- Get on the Green line. The Green line runs 2 buses on the same loop all day long. One comes by every 20 minutes. Goes to the JMU College of Business (Hartman Hall) on Bluestone Drive and to the Quad, where you can transfer to the ICS to get to East Campus. HDPT buses are fare free to board.
- Route 6 runs in a counter-clockwise loop. This is a good option to get from the GTC to 865 East quickly, but will take longer to go from 865 East to campus.
- Ride the Black Line for 7 minutes to get to UREC and Festival where you can transfer to the ICS to get to the Quad.
- For nights & weekends, you can use the Silver Line. It operates from 7pm-11pm on weekday nights and 10am-7pm on Saturdays.
- Green line runs 2 buses on the same loop all day long and goes to Main Campus. One comes by every 20 minutes. It is a 9-minute ride to Showker Hall and 11 minutes to the Quad.
- Black Line goes to East Campus. It is a 6-minute ride to Festival, bus comes by every 30 minutes.
- Green line runs 2 buses on the same loop all day long. One comes by every 20 minutes. Goes to the JMU College of Business (Hartman Hall) on Bluestone Drive and to the Quad, where you can transfer to the ICS to get to East Campus.
- It is a 20-minute bus ride to get to the Student Success Center from Camden Townes using the Green Line HDPT bus.
- Walk to the bus stop on Port Republic Road in front of University Outpost to pickup the Pink Line and Black Line to UREC and Festival (and connect with the ICS).
- Take the Black Line from The Cottages bus stop to go to East Campus. It is an 8-minute ride to Festival, bus comes by every 30 minutes.
- Walk out to Port Republic Road to take a Route 6 to Godwin Transit Center. Route 6 goes to Sentara RMH before looping back toward JMU. Route 6 comes by once an hour and takes 45 minutes to arrive at JMU. When taking Route 6 back from GTC to The Cottages, the ride is 10 minutes.
- Green line runs 2 buses on the same loop all day long. One comes by every 20 minutes. Goes to the JMU College of Business (Hartman Hall) on Bluestone Drive and to the Quad, where you can transfer to the ICS to get to East Campus.
- Ride the Pink Line for 6 minutes to get to UREC and Festival where you can transfer to the ICS to get to the Quad

- 12-minute ride to Festival, bus comes by every 30 minutes

- A 14-minute ride on the Green line to Showker Hall. The Green Line comes by every 20 minutes
Reservoir Street
- Blue/Purple Line. 16-minute ride to Festival. Comes by every 40 minutes. There are also bus stops for the Blue/Purple line on Chestnut Ridge Road
- Route 1 bus is a 17-minute ride to the Student Success Center stop on MLK Jr Way. Comes by once an hour.
- Blue/Purple Line. Walk to the bus stop on Reservoir Road or Lucy Drive to go to Festival
- Route 1 bus is a 16-minute ride to the Student Success Center stop on MLK Jr Way. Comes by once an hour.
- Blue/Purple Line. 16-minute ride to Festival. Comes by every 40 minutes. There are also bus stops for the Blue/Purple line on Chestnut Ridge Road
- Route 1 bus is a 17-minute ride to the Student Success Center stop on MLK Jr Way. Comes by once an hour.
- Walk out to Reservoir Rd to the bus stop to take Blue/Purple Line. 16-minute ride to Festival.
- Route 1 bus is a 17-minute ride to the Student Success Center stop on MLK Jr Way. Comes by once an hour.
- Blue/Purple Line. 15-minute ride to Festival. Comes by every 40 minutes.
- Walk out to Reservoir Road for a 14-minute ride on the Blue/Purple Line to get to Festival. The Blue/Purple Line comes by every 40 minutes.
Main Street / Route 11
- Walk out to and cross Main Street to take an 8-minute ride on the Yellow Line to get to the GTC. Yellow Line comes by every 30 minutes.
- Walk out to and cross Main Street to take a 6-minute ride on the Route 4 to get to the GTC. Route 4 comes by every hour.
- Walk out to and cross Main Street to take an 8-minute ride on the Yellow Line to get to the GTC. Yellow Line comes by every 30 minutes.
- Walk out to and cross Main Street to take a 6-minute ride on the Route 4 to get to the GTC. Route 4 comes by every hour.
- Walk out to Main Street to use Route 4
- 6 minute ride to Godwin Transit Center, bus comes by every hour
Neff Avenue
- Walk out to Neff Avenue, then turn left onto the multi-use path through the Arboretum. Walk to the Arboretum entrance on University Blvd where there is an ICS stop.
- Pink Line bus stop on Neff Avenue, just past the Arboretum path entrance. Pink Line comes by every 15 minutes. It is an 8-minute ride to the Convocation Center/ UREC and an 11-minute ride to Festival
- Walk to the bus stop in the Sunchase cul-de-sac. Get on the Blue/Purple line. It will be a 19 minute ride to Festival Conference Center. The bus comes by every hour.
- Use the pedestrian signal to cross Neff Ave. Walk half a mile through the JMU Arboretum to the ICS bus stop at the Arboretum entrance. Get on the ICS. The bus comes every 5 minutes.
Other
- Walk to the bus stop at Noll Drive and take Route 6 to Godwin Transit Center for a 5-minute ride to Godwin Transit Center. Route 6 comes by once an hour.
- Walk to the bus stop at Main St. and East Washington St and take Route 3 for a 14-minute ride to Godwin Transit Center. Route 3 comes by once an hour.
- Walk ¾ of a mile to Memorial Hall to ride the ICS.
- Walk one block to Grace Street to ride the ICS.
Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation
Daily bus service on campus and within Harrisonburg going to/from campus is offered free by the Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation (HDPT). Students will recognize the Inner Campus Shuttle (ICS) as the bus service that runs all day on campus.

Harrisonburg Paratransit is a wheelchair accessible public transportation service operated by the Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation (HDPT). The service is for JMU students, faculty, and staff who cannot use their own vehicle or a transit bus due to a temporary or permanent disability that impairs mobility.
