Language acquisition is not truly improved until a student is immersed in the language. Studying abroad is vital for Modern Foreign Language majors to widen their understanding and appreciation for the language they study. Study French in Paris or Spanish in Salamanca (among others) to experience the culture while being able to practice the language. Cultural understanding is an important skill to have in language acquisition and will create a better base knowledge for language learning.
See the list of recommended study abroad programs below. Please be aware that for any external or exchange study abroad programs listed, students will need to check with their academic department to see if courses taken while abroad will transfer and fulfill needed requirements.
