Teresa Drulia (Communication Sciences and Disorders) was recently awarded the Council for Academic Programs in CSD PhD Research Scholarship. This scholarship was the result of a national, competitive grant application and conveys a $20,000 contribution to the student’s research. Teresa is studying the interactions between swallowing and respiration with particular emphasis on the changes in these systems in the presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Daisha M. Merritt (Strategic Leadership) attended the 2014 Academy of Management’s Doctoral Student Professional Development Consortium of the Public and Nonprofit (PNP) Division in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in August 2014. Daisha worked with top faculty in the field on her dissertation topic of nonprofit governance and networking with other doctoral students from around the county. Her quantitative nonprofit governance study seeks to understand different structural measures of governance.
