Student Disciplinary Record Verifications

Applications for graduate school, transferring to another institution, employment, or campus activities and programs may ask for information regarding an individual student’s disciplinary record. This includes background checks for government agencies, state bar associations, and other external entities. For more information, see our Frequently Asked Question: “How does a student disciplinary record affect application to graduate school, study aboard, government employment, etc.?

Additional information can be found in the “Records - Students” section of the JMU Student Handbook.

Call or email our office if you need to verify the disciplinary record for an individual student or if you need our office to release your student disciplinary record to a third-party.

If a recognized student organization or student group need to access and/or release their organizational record, the president or team captain for the organization should contact our office.
