Ethan joined UREC in 2024. As the Interim Coordinator for Sport Clubs, Ethan is responsible for the scheduling and approval of all Sport Club events and practices taking place at JMU. Further, Ethan assists in overseeing University Recreation’s student Sport Club staff along with Sport Club members in general.
Ethan received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from James Madison University, graduating in May of 2024. During his time as a student, he worked as both a Fitness Instructor and an Operations Supervisor at UREC. After graduating, Ethan took over 40 days to hike Virginia’s portion of the Appalachian Trail South to North before returning to the field of campus recreation once again.
Ethan was born in Fairfax, VA, but has been a lifetime resident of the Shenandoah Valley after growing up in Stephen’s City Virginia. Much of his time outside of work is spent in UREC’s fitness center or running. Ethan is also a member of the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad and loves serving the community of Harrisonburg through prehospital medicine. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, hiking, and reading. The opportunity to help grow and develop the students at JMU and UREC is very important to Ethan, as he hopes to pay forward all the energy and effort that his mentors gave him when he was a student.
