UREC offers a wide variety of paddle sport trips and clinics. They range from more introductory level onsite clinics to overnight trips. All experience levels are welcome. To learn more about each type of trip and clinic offered, visit each sections below.
Registration for paddle sport trips and clinics takes place on URECRegister and opens at the beginning of each semester.
Onsite Clinics
Onsite paddle sport clinics are introductory level and designed for participants to learn and become more comfortable with paddle sport equipment. They take place at UREC in the Aquatics Center.
Examples of clinics include:
- Kayak Roll Clinic
- Try a Canoe
- Try a Kayak
- Try a SUP
Weekday Adventures
Weekday paddle sport trips are short trips during the week to local paddle sport destinations. They typically take place in the late afternoon or early evening.
Examples of past trips include:
- Canoe the North River
- Sit-on-Top Kayak the Shenandoah
- Stand Up Paddle at Switzer Lake
Weekend Day Trips
Weekend day paddle sport trips are trips during the weekend to local paddle sport destinations. They typically start in the morning and return to UREC in the early afternoon or evening.

Overnight Trips
Overnight paddle sport trips are overnight trips during the weekend to water sport destinations.
