About Us
Madison Dance is a co-ed dance club at James Madison University. There are about 40 people who are a part of our club and perform at our end-of-semester showcase. We operate in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
How to Join
We hold auditions every semester. There are separate auditions for each genre that we offer (contemporary, jazz, hip-hop and tap). Dancers will learn a 30-second combination and audition in small groups. We also hold alternate auditions for anyone unable to attend the main auditions.
Time Commitment
Each genre of dance has its own team that meets once per week for two hours. All members are required to attend practices but may have one excused absence.
Dues
Team dues start at $90 and go up $30 per each additional team. Team dues go towards costumes and events that we host. Social dues are $35 and offset all of our social/team bonding expenses. These amounts are subject to change each semester depending on the number of participants and plans for the semester.
