About Us

We are a co-ed pickleball club with two teams: a social team and a competitive team. The social team includes players of all skill levels, requires low commitment, and hosts events throughout the semester. The competitive team has mandatory tryouts, practices regularly, and competes in tournaments across the state and country. Our fall season typically runs from the third week of the semester through late November, while the spring season spans from late February to May. We also compete in nationals each spring semester.

How to Join

To be eligible for the competitive team, JMU students must participate in the tryouts held at the beginning of each semester. Only those who demonstrate the necessary skill level and meet the team's standards will be selected to join the competitive roster.

Time Commitment

For the competitive team, mandatory practices are held twice a week, typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at UPARK. The social team has optional practice every Monday from 6:30–8:30 p.m.. The competitive team participates in 2-3 tournaments per semester, with nationals being the primary goal of the season.

Dues

For the competitive team, dues are approximately $100 per semester, which covers tournament fees, travel expenses, jerseys, team bonding activities, and other team-related costs. For the social team, dues are around $15 per semester, which go towards pizza parties, practice availability, and themed practices to enhance the fun and social experience.

Awards, Recognitions, and Championships

Our competitive team is consistently ranked among the top 25 in the country.
