Family hours are designated times when immediate family are permitted to accompany student, faculty/staff/emeriti, URAC (Spouse/Dependent) and affiliate members to University Recreation facilities free of charge. During the Fall and Spring semesters, family hours start on Fridays at 6:00 pm and end Sundays at 6:00pm. Spring Break, Summer Break, and Winter Break hours are also family hours.

Immediate family include: spouse, dependents (children, foster children, step children), siblings, parents, grandparents, and grandchildren. Proof of relationship to host is required (birth certificate, driver's license, or other forms of legal identification).

Children 15 and under may only use recreation facilities during family hours and must remain in the company of their host at all times. The host must not leave the facility without the child. Children 16 and over must enter with their host, but the two do not have to remain in the same area of the facility during the visit.

Families coming near the end of family hours should note that they will need to exit activity spaces by the end of family hours (ex: 6:00pm on most Sundays), so plan your arrival time accordingly! Family guests will not be admitted into the facility within 15 minutes of the end of family hours.

Facility availability may be affected by scheduled reservations, programs and events.

If you are bringing children to family hours, review and follow age-related policies in the Fitness/Cardio Deck, Adventure Center, and Aquatics Center
