Overview

Generative Artificial Intelligence (gAI) tools can generate text, images, or other data in response to questions or other input provided.

The only gAI tool currently approved for use by the entire JMU community is Microsoft Copilot. Microsoft Copilot is a chat service powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically the GPT-4 model. It also leverages the DALL-E text-to-image model for image generation. JMU users have data protections when logged into the service, meaning that Microsoft does not monitor access and no data is ingested to train the AI model.
